Ancestral Ambassador Dr. Bruce Durie, Ph.D. Added To Grandfather Mountain Scottish Clan Caucus Team

The Grandfather Mountain Scottish Clan Caucus keeps getting better and better.  We are delighted to announce the addition of Dr. Bruce Durie to the team of Caucus speakers and facilitators.  Dr. Durie brings a vast amount of experience in Scottish ancestral matters from ancestral tourism to history to genealogy.   His role at the Caucus will be just as unique as his own background.  We have asked Dr. Durie to venture out into audience of Caucus participants during the event to bring the banter straight to the audience and delegates.  For both morning and afternoon session, Dr. Durie will be roaming the Caucus audience, wireless microphone in hand, asking questions, offering comments and generally stimulating good robust debate.

It is a privilege to work with Dr. Durie and to be able to bring his perspective to Grandfather Mountain.  Bruce Durie created and until September 2011 directed the much - acclaimed Genealogical,Heraldic and Palaeographic Studies Programme at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland.  Now he teaches regularly for the University of Edinburgh, the University of Dundee and occasionally elsewhere.  Additionally, Bruce is the recent past chairman of the Ancestral Tourism Steering Committee involving the Scottish government, VisitScotland and other key stakeholder in the field of Scottish ancestral tourism.

He has authored over 25 books on family and local history including the best selling Scottish Genealogy (History Press, 3rd ed., 2011) as well as volumes on Victorian crime fiction and the internet.  Get to know Dr. Bruce Durie a little better before the Caucus by visiting http://www.brucedurie.co.uk.
